The Victoria Independent School District Pre-Kindergarten program has been selected as a winner of the Frog Street Excellence in Education Awards.
The VISD Pre-K program has shown excellence in using the Frog Street Pre-K curriculum to accommodate the children enrolled, laying the groundwork for them to succeed in Kindergarten and on the path to Finding Their ‘&.’
Frog Street is a publishing company that focuses on research-based curriculum for early childhood education. The District uses the Frog Street curriculum for three and 4-year-olds in the pre-k programs. The curriculum meets the needs of all learners and includes strategies for differentiated instruction, special needs adaptations, English Language Learners, and more.
“Our students benefit from Frog Street as a structure to learning to support the Texas Prekindergarten Guidelines and Learning Outcomes,” said VISD Early Childhood Coordinator Carol Dippel. “It encompasses the skills necessary for school readiness - Literacy, Social Emotional Learning, Mathematics, Science, Technology, Art, and Engineering.”
VISD Pre-K will be recognized at the annual Splash conference in late July 2022.
