The Victoria Independent School District (VISD) has been named a 2026-27 Career and Technical Education (CTE) District of Distinction by the Career and Technical Association of Texas (CTAT), marking the third consecutive year the district has earned the statewide recognition.
VISD is among 94 Texas school districts recognized for demonstrating excellence in Career and Technical Education through innovative programs, meaningful partnerships with business and industry, and a commitment to preparing students for success beyond the classroom.
The CTE District of Distinction designation recognizes school districts of all sizes that provide high-quality career and technical education opportunities, connect classroom learning to real-world experiences and equip students with the knowledge and skills needed for college, careers and the workforce.
Aligned with VISD's Strategic Priority 1, Exemplary Student Outcomes, the district's CTE programs provide students with opportunities to explore career pathways, gain hands-on experience and develop industry-relevant skills. These programs connect academic instruction with real-world applications, helping students make informed decisions about their futures while preparing them for postsecondary education and employment.
Earning the designation for three consecutive years reflects VISD's continued commitment to expanding student opportunities, strengthening industry partnerships and aligning educational experiences with workforce needs.
As a designated district, VISD will receive statewide recognition and opportunities to highlight its CTE programs and student success stories during Career and Technical Education Month in February.
