SCHOOL MATTERS: Victoria ISD Embraces Community Voices with Second Annual VOICE Survey

On February 19th, a pivotal opportunity arises for the Victoria Independent School District (VISD) community. For the second consecutive year, we are launching the VOICE Survey, a district-wide initiative crucial for shaping the future of our schools. This survey, born from the collaborative efforts of all VISD departments and campuses, will be open until February 29th, providing a valuable window for your insights and opinions.

In line with our strategic plan, which emphasizes Effective Communication, the VOICE Survey is more than just a questionnaire. It embodies our belief that robust, two-way communication is the cornerstone of trust and ownership within our community. Our mission to develop communication strategies that are well-resourced, multifaceted, and radically transparent takes a significant step forward with this initiative.

Moreover, the VOICE Survey addresses key directions outlined in our strategic plan. Firstly, it enhances our communication focus, shifting towards student growth, instruction, and learning outcomes. Secondly, it embodies our commitment to seeking and accepting feedback. Through this survey, we are inviting district families and community members to share their valuable insights on programs and resources that can significantly contribute to the success of our students.

In the past, numerous surveys from various departments and campuses might have felt overwhelming. Recognizing this, the VOICE Survey streamlines the process into a single, comprehensive platform. We value your time and understand that filling out surveys can be demanding. Hence, we have consolidated our efforts to make this experience as convenient and meaningful as possible for you.

The responses collected through the VOICE Survey will directly inform our planning for the next academic year. Your feedback is integral to our needs assessment and improvement plans. Every opinion, suggestion, and critique you provide helps us sculpt a more effective and responsive educational environment.

A key survey component is the invitation to participate in the district's parent advisory meeting. This meeting is a platform for parents and guardians to offer feedback, ask questions, and contribute ideas that enhance our programs and services. Your input during these sessions is vital in developing our District Improvement Plan and revising our parent and family engagement policies. For those expressing interest, we offer a chance to engage in face-to-face discussions, allowing for a deeper level of involvement and contribution.

Community partnerships and shared resources are the bedrock of our vision to create a premier district. Parents and guardians are our primary partners in this journey. By supporting families, we aim to instill the value of education and foundational life skills in our students. Together, we are all crucial pieces of our children’s educational journey. Through collaboration, we can forge a powerful and enriching educational experience for every student in VISD.

This survey is your opportunity to make a difference. If you complete only one survey this year, let it be the VOICE Survey.

Your participation is not just valuable; it is essential. We eagerly anticipate hearing your VOICE, as it is instrumental in shaping a bright and successful future for our students.

Take the time to let your voice be heard; it will be time well spent.
